On March 5, Fengyun-4B successfully succeeded Fengyun-4A. After the orbit adjustment, the monitoring range of Fengyun-4B was further moved westward to provide data for weather forecasting, disaster prevention and mitigation.

Fengyun-4B was launched in June 2021. At present, Fengyun-4B is both young and strong, the star-earth system is running well, and the temporal and spatial resolution can reach 1 minute, 250 meters, and the technical performance is better. After the adjustment, Fengyun-4B will provide stronger technical support in weather monitoring and early warning.

Fengyun-4A was launched in 2016, with a design life of 7 years, and is currently overdue for service. Fengyun-4A and its ground system will still maintain the operational status, gradually reduce the intensity of operations, and continue to carry out observation and services.
