On November 13, 2023 FENGYUN Satellite User Conference was opened in Xia'men, Fujian, China. Experts from international organizations like World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and countries like China, Yemen, Jordan, Thailand, Indonesia, Maldives, Tanzania gathered to share the achievements of meteorological satellite development and explore the experience on meteorological prevention and mitigation and early warning. Representatives from relevant sectors, scientific institutions, universities, and enterprises also attended this event.

During the opening ceremony, the first set of images captured by FY-3F meteorological satellite and the international version of FengYun Earth were unveiled.

FY-3G data was shared globally and International FengYun Satellite Application Competition was launched. The first list of the "Belt and Road" Meteorological Visiting Scholar Program was unveiled.
Dr. CHEN Zhenlin, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) expressed that meteorological services in China will make endeavors to enable FENGYUN meteorological satellites to become an open, cooperative and win-win platform, open satellite data, share development achievements, and constantly elevate the satellite performance and application caliber.

Mr. KANG Tao, Member of the Leading Party Members Group of the People's Government of Fujian Province said that the cooperation with CMA has achieved positive results in areas like meteorological forecasting, disaster prevention and mitigation, ecological protection and scientific innovation.
Dr. LI Guoping, Chief Engineer of China National Space Administration (CNSA) said that in the future, space departments will optimize global remote sensing satellite data service, better serving the demand of global users, and enable space information to further serve the economy and the society.
Dr. Abdulla Ahmed Al Mandous, President of WMO and Permanent Representative of United Arab Emirates with WMO remarked that FENYUN meteorological satellites were a key constituent of WMO Integrated Global Observing System. This event would enable the international community to better harness FENYUN meteorological satellites to serve multiple fields like scientific research, forecasting, climate change, agriculture, space weather and industry.

Experts from CMA, CNSA, WMO, FAO, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), and Russian Academy of Sciences respectively delivered special reports. Two sessions on Weather, Climate and Disasters as well as Ecosystem and Agriculture, and Roundtable on the application demand of FENGYUN meteorological satellites along the "Belt and Road" will be held. Satellite training and exchanges on the industrial application of satellites will be conducted. Roundtable forum on Industrial Application of FENGYUN Meteorological Satellite will be opened.
This event is co-hosted by CMA and CNSA, which will last until November 15. FENGYUN Meteorological Satellite Industrial Application Exhibition will also be held.
